We have been major fans of Lettuce and Co's work over the years, so we were super excited to sit down with them and gain some insight into how those creative minds work.
What do you love about weddings, how did you start out and how long have you been in the business for?
Not going to lie, weddings can be overwhelming for all involved. Our biggest thing is ensuring that we take the brunt of what comes at us through the entire time leading up to the big day. It really is only then, on the day, that we feel the fruits of our labour. Honestly, the feeling of transforming a space (or two) in itself is super rewarding. Then to see the couple on their day and how happy they are with it all is such a great feeling. Not to mention to still hear back from them days and weeks post wedding is priceless.
Does your brand have a specific style?
We get asked all the time why the name Lettuce & Co? Well, it’s not an easy thing to name your child and this was no different but to put it simply…we chose a name that essentially sums up who we are and why we choose to exist. To have you LET US take the load and pressure off all that comes with planning and styling that event you wish to remember from beginning to end. Since our beginnings we’ve tried to stay true to who we are and what we do. To sum us up: we are dedicated, honest, passionate and professional. We are laughers and lovers at heart but when it’s called for, we may drop a naughty word or three. Our style is a reflection of our personality. Fun. Restrained. Elegance. Minimalism. Fresh. Crisp. What you see is what you get.
How many people do you have on your team and who should we expect on the day? If no one, do you have a backup plan?
We’re made up of a team of talented humans with backgrounds in Marketing, Floristry, Styling, Graphic Design, Hospitality, Advertising, Production and Event Management. As your planners & creative team we ensure that your event is executed with precision and flair. You’ll always have if not one, both Robyn & I on ground plus a number of our amazing event styling crew and suppliers.
What info do you require from a couple to best understand their vision and accurately quote on jobs?
It always helps to see all your Pinterest boards, Instagram screen shots, list of must haves down too nice to haves along with a budget range. As you can imagine our capabilities are endless and we can steer the concept in any which way. We don’t like to over deliver or under deliver for that matter so the more we know the better. In saying this, we are very transparent and honest. Straight up, we will discuss with you how best to work your budget around your desired vision.

Tell us a bit about your fee structure?
All weddings as you can imagine come with different briefs. Obviously we have to have a starting point to ensure all our overheads are covered plus the average time spent researching, sourcing, designing, liaising, coordinating, setting up, packing down etc.
Do you work on locations and do your prices include travel fees?
We work anywhere! There will be some travel costs should we need to travel outside of Melbourne.
What does your calendar look like this year and how far in advance are you booked?
Busy! We have couples book 3 weeks in advance and others booking 2 years in advance.

How many weddings have you done over the years?
Plenty but not enough, we love what we do and want to do it each and every day. Unfortunately, weddings are normally a Thursday to Friday gig!

Honestly, aesthetics is one thing and our work attests to this but it’s the security, honesty, trust, companionship and fun that we bring to the wedding planning process.
Where do you find your personal flare and inspiration for the business?
Honestly we find it in everything we see… magazines we read, buildings we see, food we eat… everything!
