Kim is a true creative, a visionary and a stunning person. You will be captivated with her stories wether they are visually through the medium of flowers or her words as a celebrant.

Tell us how you started and how long you’ve been in the wedding business?

I became a celebrant 10 years ago and several years later I added my floristry service. I was still working as a performing arts teacher at the time, until 2019 when I went full time with weddings.

Does your brand have a specific style?

My brand is modern, inclusive, sustainable & abundant.

Dear Henri

How many people do you have on your team and who should we expect on the day?

You can expect me, Kim, on the tools! I also have a talented team who come on board during production weeks. The wedding industry is pretty tight so if I need to replace a florist there’s an incredible community I can reach out to.

Dear Henri

Tell us a bit about your process when booking a wedding from start to finish?

After a couple have filled in the enquiry form and I’ve checked my availability, I send them my floral design questionnaire to complete. From there I tailor a guiding quote and custom design a mood board. Once a couple are ready to move forward to booking my service, they can sit back and relax knowing they are in the hands of someone who will take care of every element from the floral designing and arranging, to sourcing vases and candles, to the bump-in and bump-out on their wedding day.

What info do you require from a couple to best understand their vision and accurately quote on jobs?

My floral design questionnaire is comprehensive. As well as prompting for all the logistical and planning details, couples are able to choose and describe the floral elements they would like for their day. The questionnaire also allows them to upload inspiration images and a link to their Pinterest board.

Is there anywhere that couples can see your work?

Instagram and the Floristry Portfolio on the Dear Henri website are the best places to start.

Tell us a bit about your fee structure?

As I custom design each wedding that I create the flowers for, I tailor a florals quote for each new enquiry. I’m always happy to provide advice on how a couple could best utilise the budget they have for maximum impact - for example, going all in on a statement ceremony backdrop rather than scattering that spend around the whole ceremony area.

Do you work on location and do your prices include travel fees?

Included in my quote is an itemised list of the event day day costs. This includes travel & delivery, bump in and bump out.

What does your calendar look like this year and how far in advance are you booked?

I’m currently taking bookings for the second half of 2023 and the first half of 2024. My calendar is looking exciting - I can’t wait for the start of the next season!

Tell us a bit about the face behind the brand. What do you get up to on a day off and where would we find you?

If I’m at my country home I’ll be drinking green tea, playing the piano, lighting a fire, picking flowers from our garden, listening to the cockatoos screech overhead, and watching the sun melt into the horizon. And when I'm in Melbourne, you can find me strolling through the laneways in search of coffee and pastries, and catching up with friends over wine and food.

Where do you find your flair and inspiration for the business?

Nature, art, conversations with friends, podcasts, quiet walks, and driving home after a wedding all give me different kinds of inspiration!

What do you love most about your job and working in the wedding industry?

Meeting and working with the most incredible couples and suppliers! It’s the best job.
